(CDA) 
is 
a 
liberal
 and 
experimental
 job 
networking 
agency 
organized
 by 
flying City
 and 
flying Studio,
 commissioned
 by
 the
 Curatorial 
Programme
 of
 de
 Appel, 
a
 contemporary 
art 
institution 
in 
Amsterdam,
 the 
Netherlands.

Seoul
 is 
a 
metropolitan 
city 
with 
a 
population 
of 
14 
million
 and 
is 
well 
known
 for 
its 
unique
 dynamism. 
Its 
fast 
and
 vigorous 
development 
is 
not 
without 
repercussions, 
but 
the 
agility
 with
 which 
inhabitants 
proactively 
reorganize 
their 
lives 
around 
the
 modernization 
process 
of 
the
 last
 50 
years,
 has
 become 
an
 advantageous 
part
 of
 the 
Seoul
 DNA.
 CDA 
is 
an 
experimental
 project 
which 
tries 
to 
present
 a
 new
 model
 of
 ‘Universal 
human
 potential 
development’ 
by
 putting 
this 
vitality 
together 
with 
the 

phenomenon 
of 
migrant 
labour.

Such 
a 
project 
will 
be 
very 
beneficial 
in 
Amsterdam-Noord.
 Here,
 there 
is
 a
 great
 demand for
 workers
 who 
can
 undertake 
diverse
 roles 
in
 social
 and cultural
 domains.
 The
 area’s 
forthcoming 
developments 
need 
harmonizing 
with 
the 
existing 
and
 somewhat 
neglected 
residential
 housing 
and 
industrial 
past.
 In
 response
to
this,
 CDA 
aims 
to 
provide
 creative 
job
 design 
for
 capable
 applicants. 
Such 
an 
attempt 
will 
provide 
a 
yet 
another 
rich 
cultural 
asset 
to
 Amsterdam,
 which
 is 
already 
well-known
 for 
its 
international 
culture.

The expertise of our applicants is diverse, ranging from simple labour such as cleaning and serving to specialized jobs in restaurants, tourism, clubbing, social work, visual design, and new forms of role including cultural networking, specialist research, and social enterprises. We believe we can contribute to the cultural richness of Amsterdam-Noord through roles such as the creative reinterpretation of the heritage of public sculptor Andre Volten, participating in the community programs of Kijkruimte, and organizing a new programme that combines fitness and play and art classes for children in Tolhuistuin Art Centre. We can also serve the ‘Creative Industries’ with the notion of the ‘master of life’; for all kinds of work requiring speed and skills, including providing delivery services, organizing local tours, setting up street stalls in the Mosveld market, and offering new home care se vices as ‘creative listener ’ or gardener. Under the motto of ‘Creative migrant labor force’, CDA and its applicants look for ward to working for the vision of Amsterdam the ‘Creative City.’
